Athena Pournara
Born in Athens, a land of myth and light,
I've always been fascinated by the stories
that clothes can tell.
My career path led me to the sets
of Athenian cinemas, where I learned
the stylistic secrets of
behind-the-scenes imaging,
in parallel with my and costume design.
At the age of 26, I pursued my passion in Paris,
studying theater at the Sorbonne and
the relationship between body, space and
movement at the Lecoq School.
Very soon I began collaborating with theater
companies to create their costumes,
while working as a stylist-illustrator for haute
couture houses and modeling agencies.
My experience as an image consultant and
personal shopper, working with Josy Mermet
for Printemps Haussmann, crowned
my expertise as a stylist.
Then life led me to Beaugency,
to offer a more human and pleasant
for my children.
This is where my adventure into the world of bridal
of bridal accessories began,
following the first requests from customers
looking for unique, personalized creations.
Inspired by the timeless divas of cinema
and the jazz elegance of the inter-war years,
by the audacity of rock, but also by the history
of my Greek roots and the cultures and traditions
of the world, I sculpt each fabric to embody
a character, an era, a universe, a dream, a message.
